Misato Sweater - Multi

Misato Suzuki is a painter and designer whose work integrates nature and culture, threading togeth-er contemporary life and the living world. A contemplative artist with a highly stylized approach, herwork is connected to specific people and places. Misato was born in Aomori, a city in the northern-most part of Japan. Her work is influenced by her time spent there, near the ocean and surroundedby forest, and green everywhere. She currently lives and works in Southern California, where thatlandscape and culture have entered her paintings, drawings and designs. Her delicate, abstractstyle integrates organic forms with recognizable shapes, ranging from silhouettes to umbrellas. Shepulls inspiration from the vibrancy of her surroundings as well as from her Japanese cultural back-ground. The layered imagery in her paintings and in her designs for clothing lines create depth andsense of movement. She conveys movement and stillness at once.

Paintings by Misato Suzuki have been featured in galleries worldwide, including in solo and groupexhibitions in the USA, Europe, Australia, Canada and Japan. Her designs have been commissionedby UMA, New High Mart, Girl Skateboards, Element and The Quiet Life for editions of artwork.
